SNCF (French national railway company) has selected Teknoware to supply the LED interior lighting systems for the TGV (train à grande vitesse) Duplex Refurbishment. The TGV Duplex is a French high-speed train of the TGV family, manufactured by Alstom, and operated by the French national railway company SNCF.
Scope of supply covers main light lines with state of the art opening ceiling frames on both sides of the aisles. System includes also indirect mood lighting, a lighting dimming and an integrated emergency lighting mode. New lighting provides extended light lifetime, maintenance and operating cost savings, safety and high passenger comfort.
Deliveries of the lighting for 59 double-decker trains (firm order and options) consisting of nearly 500 rail cars will begin in 2017 and it could last until 2025 if all options are confirmed.
Everyday SNCF operates 450 TGV trains at a speed of 320 km/h between the biggest cities in France.
